University of Maryland School of Social Work and School of Pharmacy have partnered to offer a dual degree, MSW and Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics Post Baccalaureate Certificate program. MSW students in good standing can apply for the certificate program in the Spring of their foundation year. Interested students must complete a pre-admission form by March 15th, 2025 and if approved will apply to the certificate program through the School of Pharmacy (https://www.pharmacy.umaryland.edu/academics/graduate-studies-in-medical-cannabis/how-to-apply/).

The Graduate Certificate in Medical Cannabis Science, Therapeutics, and Policy is a two-semester, 12-credit program that provides a foundation in cannabis pharmacology and clinical science, the history of medical cannabis, and the current political landscape for this rapidly expanding field. Accepted students will be able to complete the certificate program while in their MSW program by using two electives for certificate coursework and taking two of their MSW course requirements during the summer (see plan of study for more details).
