Requirements

Students must be entering their Foundation field placement in Fall 2025 and must accept the Fellowship for both the Foundation year and Advanced year field placements. Students must sign a Commitment Letter stating intent to pursue and accept employment in the Substance Use Disorder field for two years following graduation

Academic requirements:

Foundation Year

Advanced Year

Generalist field placement

Advanced field placement at SUDIF-approved field site.

Complete 1 credit courses in Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral and Treatment (SBIRT), and Neurobiology of Opioid Use Disorders

Clinical concentration

Attend six in-person training sessions at the Baltimore campus specifically for Fellows during the academic year (Three seminars in fall, three seminars in spring)

Attend six in-person seminars at the Baltimore campus specifically for Fellows during the academic year (Three seminars in fall, three seminars in spring)

 

Complete 3 credit course SWCL 705—Clinical Social Work with Addictive Behavior Patterns

 

Complete Motivational interviewing training (Summer prior to Advanced Year)
