FINANCIAL SOCIAL WORK CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

UMSSW’s Financial Social Work Initiative (FSWI) is offering its very own Financial Social Work (FSW) Certificate Program! It will meet an identified need for greater financial capability and empowerment knowledge on the part of social workers who practice in non-profit and other social service agencies.

THE ADVANCE CERTIFICATE IN FORENSIC SOCIAL WORK PROGRAM

The Advance Certificate in Forensic Social Work is the application of social work skills, knowledge and principles within the context of the legal system.

HUMAN-CENTERED LEADERSHIP IN HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

The online certificate program in Human-Centered Leadership in Health and Human Services is designed primarily for women. Women have been significantly underrepresented in leadership roles and unsupported in leadership development activities, and women of color are especially disadvantaged. This can significantly impact women's ability to lead change in the new work environment.

CASE MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

Standards for delivering case management services across the central Maryland region vary and are inconsistent in both quality and frequency. United Way of Central Maryland and the University of Maryland School of Social Work has created a Case Management Certificate Program that will provide case managers with the skills they need to be effective in helping individuals and families alleviate the crisis and move towards self-sufficiency. 

MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

The Motivational Interviewing (MI) in Social Work Certificate Program is designed to provide not only the resources and information necessary for gaining MI knowledge through course content, but also the opportunity for practicing and improving actual MI skills.

TRAUMA TREATMENT WITH CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

The child and adolescent trauma treatment certificate program encompasses an integrated focus on child development, neurobiology, attachment theory, and adverse life events (ALEs AKA “Trauma”). 

SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

As part of a broader effort to advance the knowledge and science of treating substance use disorders (SUDs), the UMSSW is launching the Substance Use Disorder Assessment and Treatment Certificate Program focused on the evidence-based assessment and treatment of SUDs.
