The IT Department is available to students for help with their University accounts, Blackboard, Internet Access, and other technology needs.

The office is located in HSHSL Library at 601 W Lombard Street Room 540. The office has office hours M-F 8am -5:30pm and can be reached through email, phone, or by walk in appointment. The IT Help Desk is available to assist users via voice mail and email on Saturday and Sunday 9am – 3pm.

Social Work Informatics is the collection, classification, storage, retrieval, communication and optimal use of Social Work related data, information, and knowledge.  The Informatics Office is one of the core sources of support at the School of Social Work. The staff uses a wide range of audio, video, and computer technology to facilitate and enhance the learning environment at the School. The staff's goal is to provide the resources to allow you to do your research/studies/work in an efficient and secure environment.

The IDEA Team

The IDEA Team provides services and support in instructional design, e-Learning, assessments, online and hybrid learning technologies for the faculty, staff and students of the UMB School of Social Work.

The mission of the IDEA team is to support quality teaching, learning and research by providing services and resources related to instructional design, eLearning, pedagogy, educational technology, assessment and evaluation. We put our knowledge of research-based practices, assessment and alignment of curriculum, tools and technologies for teaching and learning, innovation and experimentation to work for the School of Social Work community. Reporting to the SSW Dean, the IDEA Team is led by the Associate Dean of Instructional Design and Technology.
