Tharyn Giovanni

Tharyn GiovanniTharyn Giovanni (he/him) is a clinical social worker expanding his reach into research and pedagogy. His work centers marginalized youth and young adults representing BIPOC, LGBQ, and gender-expansive communities. His clinical expertise includes human trafficking/commercial sexual exploitation, trauma, substance use, and gender-affirming care. He has previously worked with youth and young adults in various capacities on programs focused on LGBTQ issues, including houselessness, commercial sexual exploitation, sexual health, substance use, and trauma across the nation in Boston, Atlanta, the Bay area, and now Baltimore City.

Research interests: Gender-expansive young adults, health disparities, healthcare access, gender-affirming care policy, trafficking, stigma, help-seeking behavior, intersectionality, structural inequity
