Wanting Fang

Wanting Fang is an international student from China. Prior to joining the PhD program, she worked as a research assistant on a research project about transnational migration and social inequality at a Mainland university. She has diverse social work clinical experiences working with people who are homeless, victims of family and domestic violence, children with autism and developmental delays, and middle-school students. With a wealth of cross-regional living experiences, her current research focuses on understanding transnational immigrants from East Asian countries and their everyday life practices that impact their psycho-social well-being in the United States.

Immigrant health and welfare, transnational families, transnational care-giving, women’s role and strain, racial/ethnicity equality, intersectionality, cultural competence
