Professor Emerita of History, Women’s Studies and American Studies, UMD-College Park. Much of my research, teaching and writing has focused on women and social policy, historical and contemporary, in the US and comparatively. I am especially interested in issues of care—child care, elder care, and migrant women caregivers.

Current Projects:
I am just publishing two co-edited collections:
Reassembling Motherhood: Procreation and Care in a Globalized World, Columbia University Press, October 2017: https://cup.columbia.edu/book/reassembling-motherhood/9780231170505

Gender, Migration and the Work of Care, Palgrave Macmillan, September 2017:http://www.palgrave.com/us/book/9783319550855

I also recently co-authored a report for WHO on the health status of migrant women caregivers and their families. I would be happy to speak to the group on any of these subjects.
