Licensing Resources

Students are eligible to apply to take the LMSW exam in Maryland once they have begun their final semester of the MSW program. For District of Columbia licensure, students must be within 90 days of graduation.

Request to have your transcript sent to the Board of Social Work Examiners via Parchment:

  • NOTE: May graduates should do this after April 1. July graduates should do so after July 1. 
  • Please indicate "hold for grades/ degree" on your request. 

LMSW Exam Preparation at SSW

UMBSSW is partnering with Advance Social Work Solutions to provide LMSW exam preparation. 

Current students should follow these directions to access to the training materials: 

  1. It will ask you to register with an email and password
  2. It will bring you to the thank you page and it has a button to take you to the course. 
  3. Once enrolled, you can access the materials by going to Teachable and then logging in with the email and password that you used to set up your account and the course will be listed under my courses. 

Students will have access to these materials until Fall 2024.
